The horrendous Dispensing and compounding!

OMG! i so hate dispensing and compounding! Evry fortnight on wednesdays the cycle repeats where we spent late nights reading up on dispensing notes and the reference book and basically prepare ourselves mentaly and physically! the lab session is just nerve wrecking! we would be given a prescription and we're suppose to check the incompatibility, dosage n do the calculations n make the drug all within an hour individually without talking! people rushing up n out trying to complete making their drugs...its just like in being in ' Hell's Kitchen' with Mr. Jony our lecturer as Chef Gordon Ramsey and of course minus the foul language! haha. The final outcome of it utter disappointment- ZERO MARKS! *screams* for even the slightest mistake. yesterday i had the worse lab session ever. i was completely dumbstruck. i had no idea what to do when i was given the prescription as suddenly evrything looked completely alien to me. i stared at the piece of paper for almost 10mins of my precious time not knowing what to do. we had to make an emulsion for the treatment of psoriasis n there was a few methods to make it. i panicked as i watched some of my classmates starting to weigh their ingredients. i managed to figure something out and scribbled some calculations on my lab report and started weighing my ingredients n measuring evrything. feeling quite satisfied with myself, i mix my ingredients in my mortar and pestle and started mixing vigorously. after sometime, i realised my emulsion was jus not turning the way it should. a flash of panic. threw it away and redid the whole thing. still no avail. in the end i just poured what ever i made into the bottle, fumbled with my label and passed up my lab report half blank as my time was up. it was a disaster. but it turns out only 5 students got the method right out of the whole lab of 35 ppl. the rest of us...the lovely ZERO!
im so desperate to pass this subject! totally not a fun subject to repeat!
GOD PLS HELP ME!

science is cruel!

i thought i was being smart to take up pharmacy and just deal with chemistry n drugs. But i was so wrong! i had to dissect a frog for cardiovascular system lab last week. Back in secondary school, there was once when we had to bring our own frog to dissect. I brought my frog n i released the frog in the school pond. haha. I just cant stand the fact of killing such poor innocent creatures despite how ugly they look. lol. for honestly nothing. Apparently we had to observe the effects if certain drugs on the heart. Fine. we do learn something but is it necessary to kill so many? n cant they make it a less painful death for the poor frogs?

the poor frog. :( being pitt as they call it. they use some sort of wire rod to poke the frog in the head while it struggles n fight for its poor life. The frog would not die but it will be brain dead i guess. we almost had to do that on our own. I honestly dont think i could have done that. haha i think i would have let it go n say the frog slipped off my hand.lol. thank god the lab assistant helped us. i wonder how many animals have they killed.i dont know how they can do it like as though they are cutting a piece of paper. The lab atmosphere was just loud with loads of girls shrieking n screaming. Even the guys were shrieking k? im not joking. haha.bunch of cowards.

i cant believe i did that!!

the frog's heart. we had to hang to the 'thing' which i forgot what u call it.lol. its connected to the computer where u can read the heart rate after administering different types of drugs on the heart.

froggy with the brush.lol. this frog was a survivor Electrical stimulation on the frog;s heart hanged on the longest. but still it died after a long

battle.

POOR FROGGIES! We had to be cruel in order to be kind. According to my lecturer, it will help us save lives in future so killing the frog is not cruel! WELL I STILL THINK SO!! roar!
